But a sudden tragedy in the community shatters innocence, forcing Soon-ok into an unexpected marriage. Jeong-eem disappears under mysterious circumstances, leaving Soon-ok burdened with guilt and unanswered questions. Decades later, the elderly Soon-ok reunites with Jeong-eem, who remembers nothing of their past.
